About LISFRA
Under the Ontario Education Act, all schools are required to offer music education. However, many schools lack the resources to fulfill this requirement, such as qualified teachers and instruments. While the Act allows parents to remove their children from school for up to half a day per week to take private music lessons, this option is rarely feasible for families.
The LISFRA Charitable Foundation was created to bridge this gap and make music education accessible to all students. Founded by a couple who raised their own children with a balance of academics, sports, and the arts, the LISFRA Foundation stems from a firsthand understanding of how creativity shapes a child's growth.
The board of directors at LISFRA believes that music is vital to childhood development. By removing financial and resource barriers, LISFRA aims to expose more children to the joy of music, inspire new musicians, and help students build creativity, discipline, and self confidence.

We honour family as the foundational support system for growth within our community. We help to build strong, welcoming environments where children and their families feel connected and uplifted.
Music
We celebrate music as a powerful gift that inspires, connects, and enriches life at all stages. By removing barriers to music education, we open doors for children to discover the joy of playing a musical instrument, to exercise their creativity, and to share their talents and hard work with others.
Education
We believe that education goes beyond what is learned in the classroom. By fostering curiosity, integrity, and creativity, we seek to help children build the confidence, discipline, and passion required to thrive.
